Description

Rhodes is one of the most beautiful islands of Greece and belongs to the Dodecanese. Our tour of the island starts from Lindos, a traditional settlement of Rhodes with historical significance.

According to ancient Greek religion and mythology, Lindos belonged to the god Helios, who was the ruler of the island. When the god Helios mated with the nymph Rhodo, he gave the island her name. Later, Lindos, who was the son of Kerkafos and Kydippa, gave his name to the settlement. The location is a stopover point for many visitors who are fascinated by its history and its beauty.

The settlement seems to have been inhabited since Neolithic times and is now a modern place with cobbled streets that go all the way up to its highest point. Taking a walk in Lindos, we wander through its narrow streets with Venetian houses while learning about its history. Then we enjoy local food in one of the best taverns of the settlement. The authentic flavors that we will try are quite unique, as fruits produced by the residents are grown and flourished throughout the island.

Returning to the city of Rhodes, we head towards the Medieval City, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then we visit the Castle of the Knights Hospitaller and through the stories of our tour guide we learn how it was built by the Knights of Jerusalem.
